The North Branch of the Deerfield River cuts through the town and continues south, creating a wide valley that offers a variety of existing businesses, and opportunities for new, along the Route 100 central artery. A variety of restaurants, Inns,  B&Bs, and a variety of professional services, creates a wonderful classic New England town atmosphere.

Dover also offers close access to historic downtown's in the communities of Wilmington, Brattleboro, and Bennington which also feature a rich and eclectic mix of dining, recreation, arts, and events.  Within a few hours drive on Route 100 (a top 50 drive in the US), you have access to scores of recreation opportunities, activities, dining, and Vermont historic sites.
